Context & Challenge
Gabi Blacha is a soul artist who came to me to build the visuals for the album's premiere show at Music & Soul Festival (Teatr Ziemi Rybnickiej, 2026). Every song needed its own visual world, yet the whole set had to read as one artist, one album, one night.
That meant designing motion that could stretch from the quietest, most intimate track to the loudest, most restless one without ever looking like thirteen unrelated pieces. On top of that, the visuals weren't sitting in a file. They had to survive a live stage, cut in real time, and land in sync with the band and the lighting.
Solution
I started from the album's existing visual identity, and turned it into a shared motion system: a fixed set of rules for composition, shapes and transitions that every single loop had to obey, no matter how different the song.
From there I illustrated and animated thirteen original set of video loops, each one storyboarded around that song's specific emotional register. Because the rules stayed constant, the individual loops could be as bold or as restrained as the music demanded while the set still felt unmistakably like one piece of work.
The project didn't end at delivery. I built the loops as a modular live set and worked with the lighting director so that light and image moved together with the songs.
The show premiered at Music & Soul Festival in front of a live audience, with all visuals playing as a coherent visual identity for the album.
